Holiday Wishes from ChemArt Founder – Dick Beaupre

watching“If I could see the world through the eyes of a child
What a wonderful world this would be.
There’d be no trouble and no strife
Just a big happy life
With a bluebird in every tree.”
-    Patsy Cline

Who could have predicted the challenges that all of us would be facing this year? While this past year has been a long and hard road for many of us, it has given me a new perspective. I find myself looking to my youngest grandchildren to see how they view the world. They don’t know of financial hardship, or global unrest. They take great delight when the bowl of cereal is put in front of them. They are completely satisfied with the warmth of a hug. They open presents with a sense of wonder and sometimes are more enthralled with the box. They see possibilities we don’t. They look out of their window at night and see a shooting star… and believe.

I think we can all learn something from viewing the world through the eyes of a child. Let them inspire us to appreciate our health, our families and the goodness with which we surround ourselves. Let our children and our children’s children give us the courage to face the New Year with a sense of hope, prosperity and stability.

Warm Holiday Wishes

State of the Union – Message from our Founder, Dick Beaupre

Thank you all for being a part of this new social media “leap” that ChemArt is taking into the 21st century. We believe any good business has to grow into new — and sometimes uncharted– waters in order to stay relevant and succeed. I wanted my first post to be something that speks to who I am and my philosophies. Below is an excerpt from a recent commencement speech I gave to the graduating class of 2009 at the William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School:

It is true that I became an entrepreneur in 1976 and founded ChemArt Company after many years working for other companies as a chemist. Over the years I discovered that the formula for success is focus, commitment and preparation. One must love what he or she has chosen for a career. One must be committed to it and enjoy his/her work. Focus and commitment are the key. If you do not have a passion for your work choices, then move on to a new career that you may find more interesting and attuned to your abilities. Passion and commitment are the key. I call it having “fire in the belly”. Love what you do and do what you love.

Some people may say that creating a successful person or launching a successful business has an element of luck to it. There is some truth to that. But believe me there are much larger elements. I believe that luck is when preparation and opportunity meet. If you earnestly prepare yourself through education and training, an opportunity is more likely to come about that could allow you to exploit it. The opportunity is the lucky element. But the elements that stand out are preparation and commitment. Be committed to what you do, study hard, love what you do and have the ”fire in the belly” for that endeavor, and believe me you will be successful in your life career choices. Good luck and God bless all of you.
